Homemade Bath Bombs Recipe

Simple, Easy and Fun Bath Bomb Recipe

Try this bath bomb recipe, its simple, cheap and great to make with kids.
Be fun and creative with these bath bombs. You can create any fragrance but use only non-toxic essential oils with children. Chamomile, lavender, mandarin, rose and neroli are all suitable for children. Add dried flowers like chamomile flowers and rose petals or add cosmetic glitter. Craft glitter is not suitable and try and use biodegradable glitter to help protect the planet.

"I made calming lavender and chamomile bath bombs with 10 drops lavender essential oil, 5 drops chamomile essential oil and dried chamomile flowers. A lovely bed time bath bomb."
Makes 20 small bath bombs
Ingredients:
  • 400g Bicarbonate of soda
  • 200g citric acid
  • 1tsp dried flowers/herbs/cosmetic glitter
  • 15 drops essential oil
Method:
  1. Place all the dry ingredients in a bowl and mix with your hands. Add the essential oil and mix well.
  2. Using a small spray bottle, spray the mixture with water and bind together with your hands. Spray and mix one spray at a time until the mixture resembles damp sand and sticks together without fizzing.
  3. Firmly press the mixture into moulds, you can use ice cube trays if you don't have a mould. Allow to set in the fridge for an hour.
  4. If making spherical bombs, sprinkle water on one tray once set, turn out one set and place them on top of the other set to form a ball.
  5. Remove from the fridge and press out of the moulds. Keeps for up to 3 months.
